Workshop and Audition
The Ailey School of New York

Dancers from the age of 11 up to the age of 25 will have access to the workshop and the audition. Participants will be divided into two classes to attend lessons: intermediate and advanced.
Dancers over the age of 25 will only have access to the workshop.
The organizers note that the workshop will be held by the same teachers who will hold the audition, so classes are also an opportunity for dancers to be evaluated. Teachers will use every second to observe the attitude, talent and technique of all the workshop participants in order to decide whether the students are potential candidates for the admission with or without scholarships to the Ailey School.

The audition will give the opportunity to obtain the admission with or without scholarships for the following programs:

1. SUMMER INTENSIVE 2024 with a duration of 4 weeks for the Junior Division (12-15 years old) and of 5 weeks for the Professional Division (16-25 years old) – Admission and scholarships
2. Academic Year 2024/2025 for the following programs:
   – Certificate Program (3 years duration) – Admission
   – Indipendent Program (1 year duration) – Admission
   – Scholarship Program (1 or 2 years duration) – Admission and scholarships

Registration to the workshop is limited. Bookings will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
For dancers who are resident outside Rome or abroad and need accommodation, please specify it in the e-mail. We will provide details to obtain a discount for booking accommodation at an affiliated facility.

Payment must be made in one instalment by bank transfer. The bank details will be provided as soon as the organizers will receive the required documents. Payment must be made within ten days from the moment the registration is validated.
Refunds will not be possible except for reasons directly dependent on the organizers.

On the day of the event, it will be compulsory for participants to bring:

• a valid ID document;
• appropriate material and clothing.

Failure to possess the above-mentioned items will preclude participation in the event, without the possibility of a refund.

Clothing must be as follows:

• Ballet
  – Girls: leotard (any colour), tights with open toe, ballet slippers (black, white, or matching skin colour), hair pulled back in a bun.
  – Boys: tight ballet t-shirt (any colour), tights and ballet slippers (black, white, or matching skin colour), hair combed and neat.
• Horton – same dress code as for ballet, but bare feet.
• Musical Theater – same dress code as for ballet but with jazz shoes (jazz heels for girls, if possible) or character dance shoes.
